Call for contributions: Exploring the intersections of Arts, Science, Technology and Society as catalysts for change

por | Abr 30, 2024

Over the past seven decades, the discourse surrounding the confluence of arts, sciences, and technology has undergone a remarkable evolution since the advent of the «two cultures» debate. Today, a myriad of publications, institutions, and funding initiatives, including the esteemed S+T+ARTS in the European landscape, attest to the growing emphasis on transdisciplinarity. However, amidst this progress, enduring questions persist, particularly concerning the dissemination and assessment of projects within these interdisciplinary realms. A critical challenge lies in devising effective methodologies for observing, evaluating, and comprehending the multifaceted impacts of projects situated at the intersection of arts, technologies, and sciences.

In response to these imperatives, HacTe, together with the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and with the support of S+T+ARTS, presents «Exploring the intersections of Arts, Science, Technology and Society as catalysts for change«, a symposium convened to facilitate an international dialogue bridging academic discourse with practical applications. The event will take place in Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Barcelona, on October 29 and 30 2024.
By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, our objective is to explore novel strategies for accurately addressing, monitoring, and measuring the diverse impacts of projects within the global challenges of contemporary society.
